Pezzottaite meaning

Pezzottaite is a rare stone with a raspberry-pink to magenta color, sometimes also called Raspberyl. It is a distinct mineral species within the beryl group. Pezzottaite was discovered in 2002 in pegmatites in central Madagascar and recognized in 2003 as a new mineral species, named after the Italian mineralogist Federico Pezzotta. Due to its scarcity and small crystal size, it is considered a sought-after collector's stone worldwide.
