Natural Citrine Pendant
The Citrine gemstone is a unique stone that is mainly yellow in color, but can also be orange, brown and sometimes even red. Our Citrine pendants are of natural origin and not heated . This stone is often confused with burnt amethyst, but there are some ways to recognize real citrine.
How can you recognize a natural Citrine?
Natural Citrine is a variation of chrysoberyl, a mineral mainly composed of calcium and aluminum. The color of genuine citrine comes from trace amounts of iron and titanium in the mineral. Burnt amethyst, on the other hand, is amethyst that is exposed to high temperatures, which changes the color of the stone to yellow or orange. However, it is difficult to recognize this color change. If you have a Citrine in mind that is very bright orange, for a relatively cheap price, then it is probably burnt Amethyst.
