Watermelon tourmaline - slice

Tourmaline naturally grows in elongated, rod-shaped crystals. When larger pieces are found, they can be sawn into thin slices. This is especially beautiful in specimens with a color gradient from the inside out, where the different hues are displayed in all their glory. The sides of these slices are left rough, allowing you to clearly see the natural growth direction of the crystal. The lines along the edge literally show how the stone grew within the earth.
