About our hangers

The refined eyelet on the stone makes it almost look like you're wearing just a loose stone on a chain.

We select our stones ourselves at gemstone fairs. Among thousands of stones, we choose the ones that stand out, by shape, by quality, by an unexpected detail. At home in our studio in Breda, we drill a small, subtle hole and hand-apply the eyelet. Nothing else is needed. The stone itself is the piece of jewelry.

Meaning of Tourmaline

Stak Nala tourmaline is not a separate type of tourmaline, but is named after the unique Stak Nala locality in the mountainous region of Gilgit-Baltistan in Pakistan. The crystals belong to elbaite, a colourful variety within the tourmaline group, and are known for their natural colour zoning. Dark crystals can transition into green, blue, or sometimes pink, with the characteristic green terminations being particularly prized.

Meaning per colour

Pink tourmaline represents love and emotional healing. It opens your heart, soothes pain, and teaches you to love yourself unconditionally.

Black tourmaline protects against negative influences and helps you stay grounded and stable, especially during stress or unrest.

Green tourmaline brings warmth and abundance. It stimulates compassion and helps you to give and receive in balance.

Brown tourmaline offers deep grounding and strength. It helps to release old patterns and brings peace during overwhelm.

Blue tourmaline promotes calmness and clear communication. It helps you to articulate feelings clearly and deepens your spiritual insight.

Yellow tourmaline brings clarity and optimism. It purifies your energy and brings courage and lightness to difficult situations.

About Mónos

Mónos was founded by Clara and Dion in 2021 when Dion was looking for such a pendant himself and couldn't find one anywhere. A free-form stone, beautiful quality, with a finish that didn't detract from the stone. So he decided to make it himself. Since 2023, we've been doing it together.

The name Mónos comes from the Greek mono, meaning one. Because of every stone, in this specific shape and color, there is only one.

Frequently asked questions

Are they real gemstones?

Yes! 🌿

Our collection exclusively features genuine gemstones and crystals. We prioritise unique, high-quality gemstones that are not commonly found.

What is 'Gold filled'?

Gold-filled is often confused with gold-plated, but they are actually two different things. Gold-plated refers to that thin layer of gold that quickly tarnishes; almost everyone has had a disappointing experience with it.

Gold-filled is something entirely different: a thick layer of 14-karat gold that is rolled onto a base metal, containing a minimum of 5% real gold.

It hardly tarnishes, can withstand daily wear for many years, and is nickel-free. It is a very durable and affordable alternative to 14-karat gold.

Are your jewelry pieces truly handmade?

Absolutely! ❤️

All jewelry is handmade with great care and love. This is what happens before a piece of jewelry appears on our website:

  • The Discovery Journey: We scour trade shows to select the most beautiful gemstones, one by one, based on quality and shape.

  • Creation: Next, we precisely drill a hole in each stone with a diamond drill, and then attach an eyelet. This makes it possible for you to wear your jewelry however you like - on a necklace or as an earring.

  • Photography: And the best part? Every piece of jewelry is unique! We place an individual photo of each piece on our website, so you can choose your perfect shape yourself. There is only one of each stone, so you are guaranteed to have something unique in your hands ❤️
How can I find out the dimensions of a piece of jewelry?

There are two photos available for each piece of jewelry. In the second photo, you'll see my hand behind the jewelry so you can estimate its size. Please note: these are male hands, so they might be a bit larger than the average female reader, haha :)

And if you really want to know precisely: my fingers are about 1.7 cm thick. Never thought I'd measure this, but maybe it's useful, haha.

Is gift wrapping possible?

Of course!

If it's a gift, you can let us know in the comments field at the bottom of your shopping cart. We'll wrap it nicely for you ❤️

Can the eyelet of a piece of jewelry be changed?

Unfortunately, the loops on our jewelry are firmly glued and cannot be exchanged. Hopefully, you will find another gemstone or shape that appeals to you ❤️
