Hematite Quartz is a Rock Crystal (Quartz) with inclusions of Hematite, which colors the crystal red or black. Quartz grows in a hexagonal shape. When Hematite crystals stick to the growing, crystallizing quartz surface, these Hematite crystals become embedded and form beautiful points in the Quartz.

The name Hematite comes from the Ancient Greek word “haima”, meaning “blood”, referring to the red powdery streak it leaves behind. “Quartz” is derived from the German “Quarz”, a medieval term for this mineral.
