We make the bail in three metals

  • 925 sterling silver 92.5% real silver, the standard for silver jewellery. If it turns a little dull over time, silver polish brings back the shine.
  • 14 carat gold filled Not a thin plated layer that fades quickly, but a thick layer of 14 carat gold rolled onto the base metal, with at least 5% real gold. It barely discolours, lasts for years with daily wear and is nickel-free.
  • 14 carat gold Solid gold (585): 58.5% pure gold, all the way through.

About this stone

Celadonite is a soft, green mineral of the mica group that forms in cavities of altered basalt. Its name comes from the French céladon, sea green. This piece from Uruguay is a small quartz stalactite in which the green celadonite is visible. Hand-drilled and fitted with an eyelet — no setting around the stone, so you can see it completely. No two stones are alike — you will receive the one pictured.

About our pendants

Thanks to the delicate eyelet, it almost looks as if you are wearing just a stone on a necklace.

We pick our stones ourselves at gemstone fairs. Among thousands of stones, we choose the ones that stand out: in shape, in quality, in an unexpected detail. In our atelier in Breda we drill a small, subtle hole and set the eyelet by hand. Nothing else is needed. The stone itself is the jewel.

Meaning of Quartz

Please note: You will not receive a meaning card with this pendant because we only have a few of them available.

Celadonite in quartz is a clear rock crystal or quartz in which green celadonite is trapped. Celadonite is a mineral from the mica family, much like the well-known shimmering muscovite. Celadonite itself does not shimmer: it usually forms soft, dull, earthy masses. It consists of potassium, magnesium, iron, and silicon. The iron gives the mineral its color, ranging from soft blue-green to olive green. Celadonite forms in cavities and cracks of weathered volcanic rock such as basalt, where mineral-rich water slowly deposits fine green layers. Quartz often grows in the same place, and that is how the celadonite can become enclosed in the crystal. In the quartz, you then see green clouds, veils, or specks that sometimes resemble moss or an underwater landscape.

Meaning of Celadonite in Quartz

Emotional healing, Peace & Clarity

Celadonite in quartz brings together the soft, healing energy of celadonite with the strengthening and purifying power of quartz. The green celadonite works on the heart: it calms, comforts, and helps release old emotional pain. It provides a feeling of safety and security, which makes the stone pleasant during periods of grief, tension, or change.

Quartz is known as the 'master healer' and amplifier. It magnifies the energy of the celadonite and brings clarity to your thoughts and feelings. As a result, this combination helps you not only to find peace but also to understand what you are feeling. Patterns become visible, and it becomes easier to choose what is good for you.

This stone helps you to stay balanced between giving and receiving. It stimulates self-love and gentleness toward yourself and others, and helps you set your boundaries in a loving way. A lovely stone for people who care a lot for others and sometimes forget themselves in the process.

On a spiritual level, celadonite in quartz connects you with the soothing energy of nature. The green inclusions are reminiscent of moss, leaves, and water, and they help you to ground and be in the here and now. At the same time, the quartz opens you to higher insights and intuition. This makes the stone very suitable for meditation, during which it helps you to remain both grounded and open.

Did you know that...

...celadonite is one of the minerals in the ancient pigment 'green earth' (terre verte), also known as Verona green? It was already found on murals in Pompeii, and early Italian painters used it as a green base layer for skin tones. The name celadonite comes from the French 'céladon', a soft sea-green color. The mineral was first described in 1847, from Mount Baldo near Verona.

About Mónos

Mónos belongs to Clara and Dion. It started in 2021, when Dion was looking for a pendant like this himself and couldn't find one anywhere: a free-form stone, of beautiful quality, with a finish that didn't get in the way of the stone. So he started making them himself. Since 2024 we do it together.

The name Mónos comes from the Greek mono, one. Because of every stone, in this exact shape and colour, there is only one.

Frequently asked questions

Are these real gemstones?

Yes! 🌿

Our collection contains only real gemstones and crystals. Preferably as unique as possible and of high quality: gemstones you don't come across every day.

What is 'gold filled'?

Gold filled is often confused with gold plated, but they really are two different things. Gold plated is that thin layer of gold that quickly discolours, and almost everyone has had a disappointing experience with it.

Gold filled is something completely different: a thick layer of 14 karat gold rolled onto the base metal, with at least 5% real gold.

It hardly discolours, lasts for years of daily wear and is nickel-free. A very durable and affordable alternative to 14 karat gold.

Is your jewellery really handmade?

Absolutely! ❤️

Every piece is handmade with lots of care and love. This is what happens before a piece appears on our website:

  • The hunt: We search gemstone fairs to select the most beautiful stones, one by one, on quality and shape.

  • Making: Then we carefully drill a hole in each stone with a diamond drill and attach an eyelet. This lets you wear your piece the way you like: on a necklace or as an earring.

  • Photography: And the best part? Every piece is unique! We show each piece with its own photo on our website, so you can choose your perfect shape yourself. There is only one of every stone, so you are guaranteed to hold something truly unique ❤️
How big is a piece?

Every piece has two photos. In the second photo you'll see my hand behind the piece, so you can judge the size. Note: these are men's hands, so maybe a bit bigger than the average reader's, haha :)

And if you really want to know exactly: my fingers are about 1.7 cm thick. Never thought I'd measure that, but maybe it helps, haha.

Is gift wrapping available?

Yes, it's always included! We wrap every order as a gift ❤️

Can the eyelet of a piece be changed?

Unfortunately not. The eyelets of our pieces are firmly glued and can't be swapped. Hopefully you'll find another gemstone or shape that speaks to you ❤️
