What kind of gemstone is Sfeen?
Sfeen, also called titanite, is a rare gemstone known for its beautiful brilliance and colors. It is a calcium titanium silicate mineral and has a Mohs hardness of 5 to 5.5. Sphene mainly occurs in the colors yellow, brown, green and reddish-brown, and has a high refractive index, which means that it exhibits high dispersion and can have a rainbow-like luster.
Sfeen was first discovered in 1795 in the Ural Mountains of Russia and has also been found in countries such as Brazil, Madagascar, Pakistan and the United States. Primarily used as a gemstone, it is also of interest to science as it is considered an important mineral in determining the age of rocks and minerals.
Sphene or Titanite?
Before 1982, the name sphene was used to refer to this mineral. However, in that year it was decided by the International Mineralogical Association that the official name would be 'titanite'. Geologists and mineralogists quickly adopted this new name, but in gemology the old name 'sphene' continued to be used. This means that in practice the high quality clear crystals or the cut stones are still referred to as sphene instead of titanite.

Emotional Balance, Perception & Intuition
Titanite, also called Sfeen, is a strong energetic stone that helps you to stay emotionally balanced. The stone strengthens your sensory perception and promotes your mental flexibility and intuition.
It is helpful in past life work as it brings insights to the surface and helps de-energize and reprogram the karmic blueprint.
Titanite also makes it easier to understand oracles and divination tools such as tarot and numerology. Titanite encourages you to give or receive information without being mentally overwhelmed. The stone also stimulates emotional recovery and balances mood swings.
At the heart and solar plexus chakras, Titanite removes the blocks that prevent you from loving yourself and that could cause psychosomatic discomfort if left untreated.
