About our hangers
The refined eyelet on the stone makes it almost look like you're wearing just a loose stone on a chain.
We select our stones ourselves at gemstone fairs. Among thousands of stones, we choose the ones that stand out, by shape, by quality, by an unexpected detail. At home in our studio in Breda, we drill a small, subtle hole and hand-apply the eyelet. Nothing else is needed. The stone itself is the piece of jewelry.
Meaning of Libyan glass
Libyan glass is a rare natural glass estimated to have formed about 28 to 29 million years ago due to the intense heat of a cosmic impact over the Sahara. Scientists are not yet fully agreed on the exact cause, whether it was a meteorite impact or a large airburst. This golden-yellow to light-green glass is found only in the desert region on the border of Libya and Western Egypt.
Meaning of Libyan Glass
Alchemy, Transformation & Liberation
The ancient Egyptians called it 'the rock of God' and used it for protective amulets; the most famous example is the scarab in Tutankhamun's breastplate. Libyan glass is born from an alchemical process in which sand and stardust fused, it is transformation in its purest form. This glass carries the warm, sunny energy of cosmic fire and provides access to deeper wisdom.
Libyan glass helps you rediscover your inner willpower and achieve your goals. It awakens your solar plexus chakra and strengthens your personal power, allowing you to clearly set your boundaries and stand up for yourself. This glass opens you to possibilities and gives you courage to embark on new paths.
Due to its cosmic origin, Libyan glass facilitates deeper meditation and spiritual growth. It helps to elevate your consciousness, clarify your inner vision, and connect with other dimensions and ancient wisdom. This is a stone of enlightenment, increasing your clairvoyance.
The glass also brings true liberation. Just as tears become alchemical gold, your pain and challenges are transformed into wisdom and growth. Releasing what hinders you becomes a natural process. Libyan glass helps you to be an observer in what is unfolding, so that you don't lose yourself, but feel free and protected on your own path.
About Mónos
Mónos was founded by Clara and Dion in 2021 when Dion was looking for such a pendant himself and couldn't find one anywhere. A free-form stone, beautiful quality, with a finish that didn't detract from the stone. So he decided to make it himself. Since 2023, we've been doing it together.
The name Mónos comes from the Greek mono, meaning one. Because of every stone, in this specific shape and color, there is only one.

Frequently asked questions
Are they real gemstones?
Yes! 🌿
Our collection exclusively features genuine gemstones and crystals. We prioritise unique, high-quality gemstones that are not commonly found.
What is 'Gold filled'?
Gold-filled is often confused with gold-plated, but they are actually two different things. Gold-plated refers to that thin layer of gold that quickly tarnishes; almost everyone has had a disappointing experience with it.
Gold-filled is something entirely different: a thick layer of 14-karat gold that is rolled onto a base metal, containing a minimum of 5% real gold.
It hardly tarnishes, can withstand daily wear for many years, and is nickel-free. It is a very durable and affordable alternative to 14-karat gold.
Are your jewelry pieces truly handmade?
Absolutely! ❤️
All jewelry is handmade with great care and love. This is what happens before a piece of jewelry appears on our website:
- The Discovery Journey: We scour trade shows to select the most beautiful gemstones, one by one, based on quality and shape.
- Creation: Next, we precisely drill a hole in each stone with a diamond drill, and then attach an eyelet. This makes it possible for you to wear your jewelry however you like - on a necklace or as an earring.
- Photography: And the best part? Every piece of jewelry is unique! We place an individual photo of each piece on our website, so you can choose your perfect shape yourself. There is only one of each stone, so you are guaranteed to have something unique in your hands ❤️
How can I find out the dimensions of a piece of jewelry?
There are two photos available for each piece of jewelry. In the second photo, you'll see my hand behind the jewelry so you can estimate its size. Please note: these are male hands, so they might be a bit larger than the average female reader, haha :)
And if you really want to know precisely: my fingers are about 1.7 cm thick. Never thought I'd measure this, but maybe it's useful, haha.
Is gift wrapping possible?
Of course!
If it's a gift, you can let us know in the comments field at the bottom of your shopping cart. We'll wrap it nicely for you ❤️
Can the eyelet of a piece of jewelry be changed?
Unfortunately, the loops on our jewelry are firmly glued and cannot be exchanged. Hopefully, you will find another gemstone or shape that appeals to you ❤️
